Inverness Caledonian Thistle manager Richie Foran has told The Inverness Courier that Rangers fans need to be realistic.
Rangers are playing in the Scottish Premiership this season after winning automatic promotion from the Scottish Championship at the end of the 2015-16 campaign.
Many Rangers fans will be expecting Mark Warburton’s side to compete with Old Firm rivals Celtic for the Scottish Premiership title this season.
Things are not going according to plan, though, as the Gers are as many as seven points behind the Bhoys, who also have a game in hand.
The Glasgow will be aiming to reduce that gap on Friday evening when they take on Inverness away from home at the Tulloch Caledonian Stadium.
Ahead of the match, Inverness manager Foran has said that Rangers fans need to be realistic about what the team can achieve this season.

“Rangers have fabulous players all over the park, but maybe some of their supporters expected them to come straight back into the Scottish Premiership and challenge by battering teams 3-0 and 4-0,” Foran told The Inverness Courier.
“This league has changed and the teams have improved, finances have improved as well. The standard of the football has gone right up.
“I’m sure their manager and players knew that they were never going to come back up and roll over teams.
“Maybe their supporters need to realise that as well. The game has changed since when they were last in the Premier Division.”

Rangers have a decent squad and have a number of quality players, but there can be no denial that Celtic are the best team in the Scottish Premiership at the moment.
Brendan Rodgers’s side are firm favourites to win the league title this campaign.
