Torino are now losing ground in the race to secure a transfer for Celtic star Josip Juranovic in January. They fear rival interest hurting a bid with Newcastle and West Ham United keen.
That is according to Calciomercato, which reports it will now be ‘very complicated’ for the Toro to sign the full-back. The Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino natives have closely tracked Juranovic this season. He was also one of Croatia’s key players at the World Cup in Qatar.

Torino greatly appreciate what Juranovic has shown with Celtic but they may no longer be able to afford him. The Serie A side sense the costs associated with the £16k-a-week right-back are rising more and more with more and more clubs joining the fight for his services.

Top unnamed clubs from Spain and England are setting their sights on landing the Hoops’ £2.5m transfer from Legia Warsaw. Juranovic moved to Glasgow in August 2021 on a five-year contract. He has since provided Celtic with six goals and three assists over 50 outings.
Among those interested in the transfer of Celtic ace Juranovic include Chelsea, Manchester United, Newcastle and West Ham. The Sunday Post (11/12, back page) recently named the Premier League quartet as potential landing spots. But the Hoops will demand a vast profit.

Celtic want a vast profit for Juranovic’s transfer to Newcastle, West Ham or Torino
Per the Daily Record, Celtic informed Torino after an approach from the Serie A side over Juranovic’s transfer that they value the 26-year-old at no less than £17m. The Toro would double their current record spend having paid Ajax £8.5m to sign Perr Schuurs this August.
Celtic are also braced for bids come January, according to Sky Sports, which also adds that Barcelona view Juranovic as their top right-back target. But the Hoops still intend to speak with the Croatian over his new deal having not finalised fresh terms before the World Cup.

The level of rival interest now circling Juranovic worries Torino as they target his transfer from Celtic in January. But the Serie A side’s struggles to secure his services will boost the chances of Newcastle, West Ham and all of his other potential suitors ahead of the sales.
