Tottenham striker Harry Kane comes in for criticism despite an encouraging start to the season.

Harry Kane has just had his best ever start to a Premier League season.
The Tottenham striker has shaken off his ‘August curse’, and scored in the league’s opening month for the first time in his career, netting twice in his opening four matches.
Even so, Kane has come in for criticism, with pundit Stuart Pearce and Tony Adams telling SkySports that the striker’s form is ‘a concern’.
The criticism comes after Tottenham’s defeat to Watford where Kane was not at his best, but overall the England international will be satisfied with how the first month has gone.
The big problem for Kane is that he has not had a proper break this summer, due to his involvement at the World Cup.
Kane suffered an ankle injury earlier this year which he rushed back from to make the FA Cup semi-final, and Tottenham’s lack of alternatives up front means he does not get rested.

A golden boot winner in two out of the past three seasons, Kane has shown he can handle the weekly rigours of leading the line.
Despite this, it should not be surprise if his form dips occasionally and he has an off day like at Vicarage Road at the weekend.
Kane is currently back on international duty with England.

The criticism from Pearce and Adams has led to Kane being defended by rival supporters, who believe the sniping is unjustified, and the striker is simply tired.
