Peterborough chairman Darragh MacAnthony’s latest tweet about Johnson Clarke-Harris does not look like good news for Steven Gerrard’s Glasgow Rangers side.
The Bristol Post have reported how Rangers are looking at bringing Clarke-Harris to Ibrox in the summer.
The striker has hit 31 goals for Peterborough United in League One this term, which has caught the eye of Rangers’ scouts.
But it seems that Gerrard will have to pay ‘fortunes’ to land the front-man, which may put Rangers’ off a deal.
Rangers do have some spending power, but whether they will be willing to invest a large chunk of their budget on Clarke-Harris remains to be seen.
The powerful forward has been simply brilliant for Peterborough this season, with his form helping Posh earn promotion.
With Peterborough now in the Championship their financial need to sell is reduced too, which means that Rangers could face a tough battle to land him.
If Clarke-Harris did move to Rangers he would offer them more physicality up-front.
But MacAnthony’s latest tweet looks like bad news for all interested parties, and may reduce the chances Rangers had of landing the forward this summer.
