Ritchie De Laet has taken to social networking site Twitter to send messages to Aston Villa and Melbourne City.
De Laet has joined A-League club City on a season-long loan deal from Villa in the Championship in England.
The Belgian defender has taken to Twitter to send messages to his new club as well as to the Vilans.
While the 29-year-old former Manchester United defender – who has been on the books of Villa since the summer of 2016 when he joined from Leicester City for a transfer fee reported by The Sun to be worth £2.5 million – is pleased to have moved to City, De Laet has also wished the best of luck to the Villans.
Aston Villa duo Andre Green and Aaron Tshibola have taken to Twitter to send messages to De Laet on Twitter following the Belgian’s loan move to City.
While 20-year-old winger Green moved to Portsmouth on loan in the summer transfer window, 23-year-old midfielder Tshibola joined Kilmarnock on loan for the 2018-19 campaign.
De Laet has responded to Green’s message and has wished him the best of luck at Portsmouth.
