Rio Ferdinand told his official YouTube channel that Declan Rice is ‘absolutely dominating’ the middle of the park for West Ham.

It would be little surprise to those West Ham supporters that Rice is doing so well because they have seen such performances for a very long time now.

The Hammers number six isn’t just doing bits on the domestic scene, but as the months pass by, he is also becoming a key member in the middle of the park for England.

Ferdinand, who came through the youth system at West Ham, shared his thoughts on Rice and how his former club are fairing this season.

“David Moyes is absolutely flying,” said Ferdinand. “He has got his team playing to a certain style that is David Moyes. They work hard and they grind out results. This what they do.

“They have got some good players. Declan Rice, at the moment, is a standout player. He is absolutely dominating the centre of the park.

“The first half against Manchester United he did well. Against Leeds, very, very good. Solid performances. I think all round, he seems to be flourishing and real blossoming into a top player.”

After a pretty eventful summer, West Ham are now flying high under the stewardship of David Moyes, who currently has them parked in sixth position in the Premier League table.

Not many would have expected this at the start of the campaign given how things were panning out in the transfer market.

But Moyes has brought some identity back into this West Ham team, as well as changing the previously toxic mood around the place and he deserves huge credit for it.
