Rio Ferdinand has said on his YouTube channel that Arsenal fans should not go overboard with the hype over Gabriel Jesus.
The former Manchester United star made the comments when it was suggested to him that Arsenal striker Jesus has been the signing of the summer so far in the Premier League.
Ferdinand pointed out that Manchester City striker Erling Haaland banged in a hat-trick this past weekend to help Pep Guardiola’s side to a win.
Jesus moved to Arsenal from defending Premier League champions Manchester City in the summer transfer window.
The Gunners paid £45 million for the Brazil international striker (Sky Sports).

The 25-year-old has scored two goals and given three assists in four Premier League appearances for Arsenal so far this season.
Haaland switched to City from Borussia Dortmund in the summer transfer window.
The Norway international striker has scored six goals and provided one assist in four Premier League games for the Citizens so far this season.

Ferdinand said on his YouTube channel: “I think that Jesus’s impact has been unreal, and I think that he has been a fantastic signing, an absolute major signing for Arsenal, but please don’t go overboard like all Arsenal fans do.
“When you have got Haaland banging in a hat-trick at the weekend and you are going, ‘Oh, Jesus is overshadowing him still’, what are you talking about?”
Both Gabriel Jesus and Erling Haaland will be aiming to the Premier League Golden Boot this season.
Arsenal and Manchester City play good attacking football and creates chances, and it will be interesting to see how the two strikers fare in the coming weeks and months.
