Rio Ferdinand has given his take on Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Tanguy Ndombele on Rio Ferdinand Presents FIVE.
The former Manchester United defender has praised the Tottenham midfielder for his performance against Manchester City at the weekend.
The Englishman has outlined the attributes of the 23-year-old, and he has added that the France international needs to work on his endurance.
Ferdinand said on Rio Ferdinand Presents FIVE: “Special mention as well for Ndombele. I saw him play for Lyon against City last year or the year before last. He was magnificent.
“What I love about him is he can turn defence into attack very quickly. Physically he is very strong, but his feet, great movement, can shift a play and attack the space, and that opens the game up for attacking players in that sense.
“Some of his passes as well to some of his teammates have been fantastic. I think he is someone who is going to have a great future as long as he continues in this vein of form, his work ethic. Still needs to work on himself in terms of physicality, I think, his endurance needs a little bit of work.”

Important player for Tottenham Hotspur
Ndombele had injury and fitness issues last season and did not have a dream debut campaign in the Premier League, but the Frenchman is fast developing into a key figure at Tottenham this season.
There have been injury issues for the 23-year-old this season, but when fit and available he has played well, as he did in Tottenham’s 2-0 win against City at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the league on Saturday evening.
Perhaps Ferdinand does have a point about Ndombele lacking endurance. After the match against City, Tottenham head coach Jose Mourinho said that the midfielder was very tired because of the shift he put in.
According to WhoScored, the 23-year-old has not completed 90 minutes in a single league fixture this season.
