Rio Ferdinand has suggested on Twitter that Liverpool star Fabinho should have been sent off against Manchester United at Old Trafford this evening.
The former United star believes that Fabinho should have been shown a yellow card for his foul on striker Edinson Cavani in the 77h minute of the FA Cup fourth-round tie.
The Brazil international, who is a defensive midfielder by trade but was playing in defence yet again for Liverpool, gave away the foul on the edge of the box.
Bruno Fernandes scored from the resulting free kick, and while Ferdinand was delighted with the goal, he did suggest that Fabinho should have been shown a yellow card.
Fabinho was already on a yellow card, meaning that he would have been sent off.
It did not matter in the end, as Fernandes’s goal proved to be the winner, as the home team clinched the tie 3-2.
Meanwhile, former Manchester City forward Rodney Marsh has take a dig at Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp.
Marsh has reminded Klopp that he should have included Mohamed Salah in the starting lineup against Burnley at Anfield in the Premier League on Thursday, as the Reds lost 1-0.
The Egypt international forward scored both goals for the Reds in their defeat to United in the FA Cup this evening.
