Rio Ferdinand has told Five’s Youtube channel that he thinks Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp will be fuming about his board’s failure to invest.
Liverpool did sign both Ben Davies and Ozan Kabak in the January transfer window, but both came in right at the last minute and were hardly expensive deals.
Liverpool also didn’t invest heavily in the summer, after winning the title.
With the Reds now fighting for a place in the top four that seems to have backfired.
Klopp has been very agitated in recent interviews, when he has given prickly responses to numerous journalists.
And Ferdinand feels that Klopp’s anger at the situation Liverpool have found themselves in is beginning to show now.
“He was doing it with a smile before and when you are winning it’s easy for that to be brushed off,” he said.
“For some quarters they will say they don’t want to see it, but I like it. I want to see passion, he’s hurting.
“I like when I see a man hurting and he shows it, I love it.

“It shows that he cares and he’s got a bit of passion about it and he cares.
“The biggest thing for Liverpool where they messed up is that they didn’t invest. You’re on top man, Fergie has already shown you the way.
“They didn’t invest man and I think Klopp will be fuming behind closed doors, he must be.”
Klopp’s anger may subside somewhat if Liverpool can get a consistent run of wins under their belt, but doing so may be easier said than done.
The Reds players are starting to look fatigued, after three years of constant excellence and Liverpool’s fixture list is not the most friendly.
Klopp’s side take on Leicester City next, before a game against RB Leipzig in the Champions League next week.
