Rio Ferdinand has told BT Sport what Arsenal must do to be title contenders this season following the win over Chelsea.
The Gunners were in fine form on Saturday afternoon as they ran out comfortable 3-0 winners over Antonio Conte’s side at the Emirates.
It was an impressive performance from Arsene Wenger’s side and saw them move up to third in the table.
It was the kind of display that will have convinced many they can be title contenders this season.

For that to happen, Ferdinand has told them they must now show this kind of form on a consistent basis.
“Credit where it’s due, this Arsenal team played the way you expect them to play on a regular basis,” he told Sky Sports.
“Consistency was the problem with them. They’ve now laid down a marker, can they do it week in week out? To be a league winning team, that’s what you need.”

The bonus for Arsenal is that they now have a run of games in which they can go on a winning run and show that consistency Ferdinand says they need.
Their next four league games see them take on Burnley, Swansea City, Middlesbrough and Sunderland, who all currently sit in the bottom five of the league.
They are games the Gunners would expect to win and should they do so, it could set them up perfectly for a serious title challenge this season.
