Rio Ferdinand suggests that Arsenal should have signed Ashley Williams before he left Swansea City for Everton.
Wales’ Ashley Williams after sustaining an injury
Former Manchester United and West Ham United defender Rio Ferdinand has suggested on social networking site Twitter that Arsenal should have signed Ashley Williams in the summer transfer window.
Ferdinand made the suggestion during Arsenal’s Premier League game Liverpool at home on Sunday evening.
The Gunners suffered a 4-3 defeat at the hands of the Reds at the Emirates Stadium in North London.
It was Arsenal’s opening Premier League game of the season, and the way Arsene Wenger’s side defended was quite alarming.

Former Leeds United and Queens Park Rangers centre-back Ferdinand was following the match, and he has suggested on Twitter that Arsenal should have signed Williams.
Wales international centre-back Williams recently moved from Swansea City to Premier League rivals Everton.
According to BBC Sport, Swansea initially rejected a £10 million bid from Everton for the 31-year-old, before accepting a second offer of £12m.

This is not the first time that Ferdinand has suggested that Arsenal should have moved for Williams.
Back in September of last year, the former England international centre-back made a similar suggestion on Twitter.
