Rio Ferdinand has hailed Son Heung-min by saying he would rather pay to see him in action than Tottenham Hotspur teammate Harry Kane.

What would football be without these either/or debates?

For years we have seen the ‘Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo?’ question, and we can only imagine how many times we will all be asked whether we would rather have Kylian Mbappe or Erling Haaland.

There are many other examples and maybe Son Heung-min or Harry Kane is a question that many Premier League fans have wondered about in recent years.

Harry Kane is one of the biggest names in football and his record of 256 goals in 398 games for Tottenham is frankly staggering.

Add in Kane’s playmaking abilities and he will go down as one of the most well-rounded and impactful strikers in Premier League history.

Yet Tottenham have another world class forward in their ranks with Son Heung-min a superstar in his own right.

Signed from Bayer Leverkusen in 2015, Son has been an incredible bargain for Tottenham given his service to the club.

The pair have been on different paths; Kane, a product of the Tottenham youth system and a poster boy for all Spurs youngsters for years to come.

Son’s popularity in South Korea absolutely dwarfs Kane’s in England though and he may well go down as the best Asian player in the history of the Premier League.

Together, the pair are Premier League record-breakers having combined for a staggering 43 goals in the top flight – five clear of Didier Drogba and Frank Lampard.

Some have though wondered just who is the better player, especially as Son has particularly impressed when Kane has been missing.

Rio Ferdinand has now had his say, telling Vibe With Five that they are simply the best duo in Premier League history and you would ideally want them together.

Ferdinand did add that, if he had to pick one of them, he would pay more to see Son in action than Kane.

“It’s the best duo in Premier League history,” said Ferdinand. “They’re so different, you’d want one with the other. I’d probably take Son but it depends what you want though.”

“I would pay to see Son more,” he added.
