Michael Keane stated on Instagram that it was a ‘much better’ performance from Everton as they recorded a morale-boosting 1-0 win over Sheffield United.

Rio Ferdinand responded to Keane’s post and simply messaged the Everton centre-back by saying ‘love it’.

The Toffees have been producing indifferent results and performances since the restart, but three points and a clean sheet yesterday has lifted the mood at the club.

Keane has previously had Mason Holgate start alongside him at the heart of Everton’s defence, but teenager, Jarrad Branthwaite, was handed a first Premier League start by Carlo Ancelotti, and he impressed.

That was eluded by Keane on his social media post when he stated that it was a ‘brilliant performance’ from the academy product.

Everton don’t have anything to play heading into the final game of the season, but the fans want to see a positive end to what has been a pretty long campaign for all involved.

Added with that, some Everton players may also find that this could be their final game for the club because their season hasn’t exactly been spectacular.
