Rio Ferdinand has congratulated Everton’s Michael Keane on his England performance last night.

The Three Lions thrashed Bulgaria 4-0 in a Euro 2020 qualifier at Wembley to make it three wins from three in Group A.

Keane, a £30 million signing by Everton in 2017, has been an ever-present figure in Gareth Southgate’s defence throughout the campaign.

And legendary centre-back Ferdinand has congratulated him on his clean sheet.

The Toffees stalwart wasn’t England’s best player on the night and Bulgaria did get quite a few sights on Jordan Pickford’s goal.

But it wasn’t costly for Keane, who was also booked late on.

At club level, the Everton star has been one of Marco Silva’s best players this season and, really, has been for over a year.

Keane had quite a mixed first season at Goodison following his big-money move from Burnley, but he certainly looks the part these days and long may it continue – for club and country.
