Rio Ferdinand says trophyless Tottenham could be haunted if they do not win the league.

Rio Ferdinand has warned Tottenham Hotspur’s players will be mentally scarred if Mauricio Pochettino’s side do not win the Premier League.
Spurs have finished in the top four for the last three seasons, but since 2015/16 they have fallen progressively further behind the eventual champions.
Trophies have so far eluded Tottenham, and Ferdinand has told The Mirror that Pochettino’s players will have lifelong regrets if they cannot win England’s top trophy.
Ferdinand said: “This Spurs side has been on the periphery. They know how to get near to the top of mountain, but that is the type of thing that will scar these players for life.
“If they don’t do it, it is hard to take that out of your mind.
“When you retire and those boots get hung up, they will be having sleepless things over things like that.”

Tottenham are already six points behind the league leaders after two successive defeats.
It certainly won’t be easy to win the league this year, and last season they finished 23 points behind Manchester City.
One former Spurs player, Kyle Walker, jumped ship to City to achieve his goal of winning a trophy.
Rio Ferdinand hopped clubs from West Ham to Leeds to Manchester United in order to eventually achieve his title dream.
