West Ham United boss David Moyes may be looking forward to having a chance to work with Andy Carroll.

Rio Ferdinand once said that he couldn’t believe David Moyes’ tactics at Manchester United, as he wanted so many crosses put into the box, but it may just be that the Scottish boss’s style will work at West Ham United.
Ferdinand was used to playing a more patient brand of football when Moyes took charge at Old Trafford.
But the former United defender’s comments may just highlight why Moyes could be a good fit at West Ham.

Ferdinand said in his autobiography: “Sometimes our main tactic was the long, high, diagonal cross. It was embarrassing. In one home game against Fulham we had 81 crosses! I was thinking, why are we doing this? Andy Carroll doesn’t play for us!”
At West Ham Moyes will, of course, have Carroll available to him – and the target-man could be a key player for the Hammers over the coming weeks.

Moyes has tended to play a fairly direct style of football, and Carroll is likely to feature prominently.
The England international forward has not actually been in particularly good goalscoring form this term, but West Ham will be relying on him to find his shooting boots soon.
Moyes will take charge of his first West Ham game at the weekend, when his new side take on Watford at Vicarage Road.
