Rio Ferdinand praised Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins on BT Sport 1 (2:39pm, February 6, 2021) for his performance against Arsenal today.

The former Manchester United defender, who now works as a pundit for BT Sports, was impressed by the performance of Watkins during Villa’s 1-0 win against Arsenal at Villa Park in the Premier League this afternoon.

The striker scored the only goal of the match after just two minutes and worked hard for the team throughout his time on the pitch.

Ferdinand said about Watkins on BT Sport 1 (2:39pm, February 6, 2021): “Watkins today was tremendous. He held the ball up, brought others into play, and was getting his shots off.”

How did Ollie Watkins play against Arsenal?

Watkins scored the all-important goal in the Premier League game today, and his overall game was also very good.

The 25-year-old held the ball up brilliantly, connected well with his teammates, and brought others into play.

According to WhoScored, the former Brentford striker took four shots and three were on target, played one key pass, had a pass accuracy of 64.5%, won seven headers, took 46 touches, and made one interception.

So far this season, the 25-year-old Englishman has scored 10 goals and provided two assists in 21 Premier League appearances for Villa, according to WhoScored.
