Tottenham Hotspur have won just once in their last eight matches.

Rio Ferdinand has told the London Evening Standard that Tottenham Hotspur trio Christian Eriksen, Mousa Dembele and Dele Alli have all regressed this season.

Tottenham are unbeaten in the Premier League, but they have won just one of their last eight matches.

Spurs also are in trouble in the Champions League, and they must win their remaining two fixtures to have a chance of qualifying from their group.

Ferdinand feels that Tottenham’s rather indifferent start to the new campaign has come as a result of some of their players letting their standards slip.

The former Manchester United man feels that Eriksen, Dembele and Alli – who were all key players for Spurs last term – have not contributed as much this time around.

“The likes of Christian Eriksen, Mousa Dembele and Dele Alli haven’t matched last season’s efforts for a variety of reasons,” he said. “Kane can make the difference, but others have to step up.”

Tottenham's Dele Alli

Eriksen, Dembele and Alli remain important parts of Tottenham’s first-team.

However, Eriksen and Alli have both come under some criticism from the White Hart Lane crowd this term.

Eriksen is yet to hit the back of the net in the Premier League for Spurs, while Alli was dropped to the substitutes’ bench for Mauricio Pochettino’s side most recent fixture against West Ham United.

Tottenham are next in action later this evening, when they take on Monaco in Champions League action.
