Speaking on his YouTube channel, Rio Ferdinand has been discussing Antonio Conte and his future at Tottenham Hotspur.

The Italian has only just arrived at Spurs, but there’s already quite a lot of speculation about whether or not he’ll leave the club in the coming months.

Spurs may have won 4-0 at the weekend, but they’ve lost four of their last six league games, and Conte made his feelings very clear after a loss against Burnley last week, and he wasn’t happy.

Ferdinand believes that Conte could actually quit Spurs if he isn’t given hefty funds in the summer and if he doesn’t notice a change in attitude within the playing squad.

What’s been said?

Ferdinand gave his view on Conte.

“I’ve said before the game that based on the interview and the inconsistencies at Spurs, if they don’t either guarantee him big funds in the summer and he doesn’t see a change in the attitude of the players and their character that matches his, he will go. He won’t take one of the other, he needs both of those things to stay, and if he doesn’t get the both of those thinsg, the money and the will to win and consistency with this team, he’ll say ‘this isn’t for me’ and I think he’ll be unapologetic about that,” Ferdinand said.

Hard to please

We don’t know what would push Conte into leaving Tottenham, but one thing is for sure, this is a manager that is tough to please.

The Italian has had problems with owners at Chelsea, Inter and seemingly now Spurs, and as we’ve seen before, if Tottenham don’t do things his way, he could walk away.

Conte isn’t in this for the money, he wants success, and if Spurs can’t give him that platform, it won’t be hard for him to find another club that can.
