Former Queens Park Rangers defender Rio Ferdinand has made a bold claim about club legend Trevor Sinclair and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Queens Park Rangers may be a world away from the Champions League but one of their heroes had his name up in lights during the quarter-finals on Tuesday night.
Cristiano Ronaldo inspired Real Madrid to a dominant 3-0 away win at Italian giants Juventus.
The game will be remembered for a jaw-dropping overhead bicycle kick goal from Ronaldo which left the watching millions stunned.
The goal sparked debate about the best overhead kicks ever scored with Wayne Rooney’s strike for Manchester United against Manchester City highlighted in BT Sport’s live coverage.

But as the world gushed over the strike BT Sport pundit and former QPR defender Rio Ferdinand made a bold claim that Hoops legend Trevor Sinclair’s famous overhead kick against Barnsley in 1997 was better.
“Trevor Sinclair scored one similar, I actually think Trevor’s was better but what sets Ronaldo’s apart is the stage,” Ferdinand said on BT Sport.
“Trevor’s was in a (domestic game) but to do that on this stage in such a big, important game, it’s a joke.”
Sinclair’s amazing effort in that fateful FA Cup tie against Barnsley has gone down in history.
It is without doubt the best FA Cup goal ever scored, and the best bicycle kick. Andy Carroll’s for West Ham drew comparisons last season and was more powerful but much closer to goal. Ibrahimovic’s has been branded flukey and came in a friendly while even Ferdinand admitted Rooney shinned his.
The goal’s 20th anniversary last season was marked with a host of nostalgic articles none better than the Telegraph’s take on the strike.
