Rio Ferdinand has just made a claim about Ben Godfrey after Everton transfer

Rio Ferdinand has taken to Twitter to give his reaction to Ben Godfrey joining Everton from Norwich City.

Everton have announced on their official Twitter page that they have signed the 22-year-old central defender from Championship club Norwich on a five-year contract.

Former Manchester United and West Ham United central defender Ferdinand believes that Godfrey will be hardest working player at the club.

According to WhoScored, Godfrey played thrice in the Championship for Norwich this season.

During the 2019-20 campaign, the 22-year-old central defender played 30 times in the Premier League for the Canaries, according to WhoScored.

Good signing for Everton?

Godfrey is a very good and promising young central defender who will make Everton a better team at the back.

The youngster will only improve and get better, and working with manager Carlo Ancelotti will help him develop as a footballer in the coming years.

Everton have made a strong start to the 2020-21 Premier League campaign and are aiming to finish in the Champions League places.

The Toffees are at the top of the league table at the moment with 12 points from four matches.
