Dele Alli is one of the best young players in entire Europe and has been in brilliant form for Tottenham Hotspur so far this season.

The 20-year-old midfielder has scored 14 goals and created 34 chances in 27 Premier League matches so far this campaign.

During the 2015-16 season, the England international scored 10 goals and created 55 chances in 33 league games.

Alli has progressed this season, and one of the improvements he has made has been in goals scored.

Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has a theory behind Alli’s improvement in goalscoring record.

“Dele Alli can link, create chances and get goals – his scoring rate has jumped since Spurs went to a back three,” Ferdinand wrote in The Times.

Alli is still not the finished article and he does need to work on his temperament, but it is clear that he will become a world-class footballer in the coming years.

Tottenham are second in the Premier League table at the moment with 59 points from 28 matches, 10 points behind leaders and London rivals Chelsea.

Spurs will return to action on Saturday afternoon when they take on Burnley away from home at Turf Moor in the league.
