Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool side were beaten 3-0 by Barcelona at the Nou Camp last night.

Rio Ferdinand has told BT Sport, during their live coverage of Liverpool’s match against Barcelona, that Jordan Henderson’s pass to Sadio Mane in the first half was just like something Steven Gerrard would have done.

Henderson threaded a through ball past a host of Barcelona defenders to put Mane in on goal.

However, Mane fluffed his lines when well placed and put his shot over the bar.

It was to prove costly, as Liverpool slipped to a 3-0 defeat against Barca.

But Ferdinand was still keen to praise Henderson’s passing range in his post-match analysis.

He said: “This was Gerrard-esque from Henderson, but this is the difference at the top level – the cutting edge, being potent at this level. You have to take those chances.”

Liverpool actually competed well at the Nou Camp, but they were undone by the brilliance of Lionel Messi.

Barca scored first through Luis Suarez, before Messi added a wonderful brace to put Barca in a very commanding position in the tie.
