Rio Ferdinand claimed on Twitter that ‘West Ham have started well at the Euros’ as he was reacting to Tomas Soucek and Vladimír Coufal’s performance at Euro 2020 today.
The West Ham duo helped the Czech Republic beat Scotland 2-0 at Hampden, as they opened their account in fine style.
There were a number of Premier League players on show today, including from Scotland’s side, such as Andy Robertson, Scott McTominay and John McGinn.
But at the full-time whilst, it was the Czech’s and the West Ham duo who were celebrating a deserved three points.
This is the message Ferdinand posted on Twitter about Soucek and Coufal during today’s game.
West Ham fans have seen on a weekly basis what Soucek and Coufal are capable of producing, so they wouldn’t have been surprised by their performance against the Scots.
They are two players who are underappreciated and have gone under the radar during the recently concluded campaign after they helped the Hammers to a top-six finish.
So, as the games go on, they will be crucial in their country progressing in a tough group, which also contains England.
As for Scotland, they are now facing a potential early exit because if they are beaten by the old enemy on Friday then it might just well be game over.
