Erling Braut Haaland has been hitting the headlines this week, with Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer sharing his admiration of his Norwegian compatriot, and the FC Salzburg striker scoring a hat-trick in the Champions League.
The striker’s father, Alf-Inge Haaland, has suggested that he would be okay for his son to join Manchester United despite he himself having played for Leeds United and Manchester City.
Haaland scored a hat-trick for FC Salzburg in their 6-2 win against KRC Genk at home in the Champions League in midweek.
United manager Solskjaer recently spoke highly of the youngster, telling BBC Sport that he is “excited” by the development of the 19-year-old striker.

There is a lot of hype around the Norway international striker at the moment, but United legend Rio Ferdinand seems to be a sceptic.
The former Manchester United and Leeds United central defender Ferdinand has suggested that the youngster will not find it easy when FC Salzburg visit Anfield to take on Liverpool in the Champions League in October.
The Mirror quotes Ferdinand as saying about Haaland: “They won’t know much about them but he has come in and scored lots of goals. He has scored 17 goals already this season.
“He is trying to make a name for himself but it will be a big ask for him to come and do it again against Liverpool.”
Liverpool are a much better team than KRC Genk and have one of the best central defenders in Virgil van Dijk.
It is hard to see Haaland score a hat-trick at Anfield, but one should not be surprised if he does find the net once.
