Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane reportedly wants an improved contract offer at White Hart Lane.
Rio Ferdinand has told the London Evening Standard that Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane deserves to be on similar wages to Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero.
Kane’s contract at Spurs has come into focus over recent weeks, with question marks emerging over the England international’s pay at White Hart Lane.

Kane reportedly wants an improved contract at Spurs (The Independent), but Daniel Levy is loathed to break the Lilywhites’ pay structure.
Tottenham currently have no player earning more than £100,000-per-week, with Kane thought to be on around £60,000-a-week.
Kane is said to want parity with the likes of Leicester City’s Jamie Vardy and Liverpool’s Daniel Sturridge – who are on £120,000-a-week.
However, Ferdinand feels that Kane is so talented that he should be on a much higher wage than what he is requesting.

“I think Kane is weakening his own position if he uses Vardy and Sturridge as a starting point because they’re not the same calibre of player,” he said. “He is only 23 and the other two don’t match up with him in terms of games played and goals scored.
“I’m sure this is the last thing Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy will want to hear. I understand that he is a businessman and wants keep a strict wage structure at the club. But we are not talking about any player — we are talking about a striker who guarantees you more than 20 goals a season.
“If I was him, I’d be demanding to be on the same level as Sergio Aguero, who has a package of about £220,000 including bonuses, instead.”
There are no suggestions that Kane has any desire to leave Tottenham yet, but the North London club will want to sort the striker’s future out sooner rather than later.
Kane has finished as Tottenham’s top scorer for the last two seasons, and looks set to reach a large number of goals again this time around.
