Rio Ferdinand has told BT Sport, during their live coverage of Tottenham Hotspur’s match against Manchester City, that Mauricio Pochettino’s side simply have to admit that the hosts were better than them.

City won 4-1 against Spurs yesterday, and while Pochettino’s men were not at the best in the fixture, Ferdinand claims that Tottenham could not do much to stop the relentless league leaders.

The former Manchester United defender said: “Sometimes you have to hold your hands up and say they are another level. It’s easier to take a defeat when you know on every level you have been outplayed.

“You accept that and move on, that’s the disheartening thing for the rest of the league.”

City have now won 16 matches in a row, and look to already have the league title in the bag.

Spurs are already trailing Pep Guardiola’s men by 21 points, with the gap between the two sides exposed yesterday.
