Jose Enrique says if he had a choice, then he would want Liverpool to sign either Kevin de Bruyne, Rodri or Erling Haaland from Manchester City.

The former left-back was asked ‘you can make one signing from your biggest rival’, to which he put forward the names of the Manchester City trio via his Instagram story

Of course, Liverpool’s biggest rivals are Manchester United or Everton, but in terms of in recent years, it has been Manchester City that have locked horns with them the most.

Kevin de Bruyne has been a thorn and issue for everybody, whilst Rodri is perhaps the best number six in the world, whilst Erling Haaland produced one of the most devastating debuts seasons in recent history.

Imagine Jurgen Klopp being able to work with either one of those players at Anfield? They would be formidable and add more titles to Liverpool’s cabinet.

That’s why Enrique put their names forward when asked who he would sign from Liverpool’s biggest rivals.

“Right now? Difficult one, but if it will be from Manchester City,” said Enrique. “Rodri, KDB (de Bruyne) or Haaland.

“One of them, don’t mind which one.”

Can Liverpool challenge Man City again?

Near-on everyone is going to tip Manchester City to win the title again next season and you would be crazy to bet against them given that they have won three-in-a-row and the Treble last season.

The last team that did stop them was Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool.

What’s interesting here is that they aren’t in the Champions League next season, so how will Klopp use the Europa League?

If he uses it to rotate and rest players, then it will benefit them big time in the Premier League and it might just allow them to keep up with the runaway train from the Etihad.
