Norwich City manager Dean Smith has lauded Aston Villa loanee Aaron Ramsey after the midfielder’s Man of the Match performance for the Canaries against Stoke City.
Speaking to Norfolk Live, the former Villians manager was full of praise for the 19-year-old talent after Ramsey bagged a brace in Norwich’s 3-1 win against the Potters, the first goals the youngster has bagged for the club since joining the Championship side in the summer.
Ramsey is regarded by many as one of Villa’s most exciting talents, with the attacking midfielder’s brother, Jacob Ramsey, already a regular for the Premier League side after breaking through under Smith and then establishing himself with Steven Gerrard.
And now, the younger of the two brothers is now starting to find his feet in the second-tier, with concerns mounting from Norwich supporters over where Aaron Ramsey was capable of cutting it in the Championship. However, Smith’s trust in the youngster has now paid off.

Ramsey’s performance fired Norwich up the standings into fifth place, and with the England youth international now finally on the board for the season, Smith is expecting big things from the youngster in the weeks to come ahead of the November break for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
The Norwich boss said: “He’s a very unselfish player, he loves creating for others and getting assists. He’s a great lad, he works extremely hard but getting in them areas to score goals, it’s a step in the right direction for him and I’ve no doubt he’ll go on and score more now.”

Ramsey is just one of many Villa youngsters currently enjoying a loan spell out in the Championship, yet for supporters, the midfielder is arguably the talent with the biggest chance of making it into Unai Emery’s plans for next season. And the teenager finally breaking his goal duck is huge.
With three games left to go until he World Cup break, Ramsey needs to make the most of every minute coming up in the next few weeks. And scoring a brace against Stoke will likely inspire the Norwich loan star to be more ambitious in front of goal and to create chances for his fellow teammates.
