Should Leeds be trying their best to bring Jordan Rhodes to the club?
Leeds United have recently been linked with a January swoop for David Nugent.
The Northern Echo reported that the striker is being considered by both Leeds and Sheffield Wednesday with former club Preston North End also keen.
The Sun went on to report that the Middlesbrough striker has informed friends that he would like a move to Leeds.
Middlesbrough’s Jordan Rhodes looks dejected
He is said to be keen on the move as it would mean not having to move home for the final six months of the season and he would get plenty of game time at Elland Road.
But are Leeds targeting the wrong Middlesbrough striker?
If Leeds are to bring in an out-of-favour Boro striker then Jordan Rhodes should be the man they go for.
Middlesbrough’s David Nugent in action
The 26-year-old is currently not a regular at the Riverside but is a goal-scoring phenomenon in the Championship if he gets on a streak.
He can play as the one striker, or as part of a strike-force and would add quality depth to the Leeds team.
If Leeds want to show ambition, they should be looking at a deal for Rhodes this winter and not Nugent.
