Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter to react after Alfie Devine was named as part of England’s Under-19 squad, as Football London covered.
The 16-year-old joins fellow Tottenham wonderkid Harvey White in the Under-19 set-up, and the pair will take part in a training camp this week.
While it’s a great achievement for both youngsters, it is far more significant to see Devine included in the Under-19 set-up.
Why? Well, White is 19, whereas Devine is just 16 years of age!
You’ve got to be pretty good to leapfrog three age groups at international level – that goes without saying.
It really does seem like Spurs have a gem on their hands.

Devine is already the youngest goalscorer in Tottenham’s history, setting the record after he scored against Marine at just 16 years and 163 days.
The teenager also has a feisty side to his game, something that Jose Mourinho surely loves.
Devine was involved in a heated confrontation with Chelsea’s Danny Drinkwater earlier this season, which saw both receive a red card.

In the reverse fixture, Chelsea’s commentators even made a remark about his full-blooded, emotional style of play, which we covered here.
It’s good to see a youngster with a bit of fire in his belly, and incredible quality to go with it – Tottenham have a potential star on their hands.
Let’s see what the Tottenham fans on Twitter have been saying about his call-up…
