Aston Villa fans have taken to Twitter to react after The Athletic shed some light on why Gareth Southgate isn’t starting Jack Grealish.
What’s Southgate’s reason?
According to The Athletic, the common suspicion inside the England dressing room is that Southgate has concerns about Grealish’s work rate.
The Three Lions boss wants Aston Villa’s No.10 to put more pressure on opponents when England are out of possession.
Grealish started the 1-0 win over Croatia on the bench, and was also sidelined for the 0-0 draw against Scotland.
With Mason Mount now having to isolate, hopefully the 25-year-old is trusted to start against the Czech Republic tonight.
Southgate respects the opposition too much

Of course, we understand that it would be naive to go completely gung-ho at an international tournament and play a number of attackers.
However, it’s becoming increasingly frustrating to see Southgate ignore England’s flair players due to their defensive qualities.
The opposition should be worrying about players like Grealish, rather than us having to think about how Grealish can deal with them.

Southgate isn’t being brave enough, to say the least.
As far as the Aston Villa fans on Twitter are concerned, they’re not happy at all with what they’re hearing.
Let’s see what they’ve been saying…
