West Ham United fans provided a mixed reaction after rumours emerged that Jeremy Ngakia could be signing for Watford.

The Guardian have claimed that Ngakia is set to join the recently-relegated Hornets after leaving West Ham following the expiry of his contract in July.

Ngakia broke into the first-team at the London Stadium during the second half of the campaign and put in some eye-catching performances, especially against Liverpool.

But his contract in East London was coming to an end, and with out-of-contract players needing extensions because the 2019/20 season went beyond June, he didn’t sign either a short-term or long-term deal at the club.

It now seems as though he will be heading to Vicarage Road, where Championship football will be played next season after their five-year stay in England’s top-flight was ended last Sunday.

The Hammers faithful were mixed in their reaction to the Ngakia news, some felt it will do him well playing regularly, whilst others laughed at how he has gone from being a Premier League player to one that is now in England’s second-tier.

One thing is for sure, if Ngakia does join Watford then he will have his work cut out because he’ll be joining a side that has just endured a miserable campaign and one that fires their managers at will.
