Speaking on the Sky Sports Football YouTube channel, Rob Holding has been chatting about some of the best passers at Arsenal.
The defender was playing a game where he had to guess which Arsenal player scored highest on a number of metrics on FIFA 22, and when it came to passing, Holding knew who he thought was the best.
Martin Odegaard may be the Gunners’ creative maestro right now, but according to Holding, Aaron Ramsdale is actually the best passer at the club.
What’s been said?
Holding said that Ramsdale is the best passer at the club even if he isn’t ranked the highest on FIFA.
“Rambo yeah Rambo needs it, not on FIFA, but realistically it’s him,” Holding said.
“Oh he’s unbelievable, I remember the first time I played against him, we played Sheff U away and McGoldrick was right in front of me from a goal kick and he just zings one 70 yards along the floor to McGoldrick’s feet. I was thinking ‘I didn’t expect that’. 10 minutes later the same thing happened again and I was like ‘that’s ridiculous’,” Holding said.

Modern goalkeeper
A lot is made of the likes of Kevin De Bruyne, Paul Pogba and Odegaard as the best passers in the world, but let’s not forget, goalkeepers are amongst the best distributors of the ball these days.
Yes, they don’t get many assists, but when it comes to playing a long-range pass, there aren’t many better than the likes of Manuel Neuer, Ederson and Aaron Ramsdale.
Of course, passing is about a lot more than just hitting a long accurate pass, and these goalies won’t have the movement, skill or guile to play intricate short passes that create space, but in terms of pure accuracy and ball striking, they’re up there with the best.
