Speaking on his YouTube channel, Rio Ferdinand has named Mohamed Salah as his Premier League Player of the Year.
Could it have been anyone else?
Salah has been the standout star of the Premier League this term. He’s the top scorer in the division and he’s also just behind Trent Alexander-Arnold in the assist charts too.
Salah has been the most important player in arguably the best team in the league, and Ferdinand has made the case for Salah being the Player of the Year.
What’s been said?
Ferdinand showered Salah in praise.
“There’s only one man for me, I have to be honest, he’s been decisive. He has the most goals and the most assists in the league, you can’t go against that. It’s Mo Salah. He’s been ridiculous. You can see fear in defenders when he’s on the pitch, he does every part of the game really well. His finishing, he does all types of finishes. You just look at the goals and assists, that is enough to say he’s the most decisive player in this league,” Ferdinand said.

All-time great
Salah isn’t just having a Player of the Year season, he’s having one of the all-time great Premier League campaigns.
The Egyptian could win his third Golden Boot, and he may also win his first Playmaker award.
If the Reds win the quadruple, we may have to consider Salah’s campaign as one of the greatest of all-time, and even if they don’t he’s a shoo-in for the Player of the Year award.
Salah has been absolutely fantastic this season, and he deserves all of the plaudits and awards that come his way.
