Leeds fans have taken to Twitter to react after Southampton legend Matt Le Tissier commented on Andre Marriner’s performance at Elland Road last night.
The 52-year-old tweeted that he thinks Mike Riley – manager of the Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL) – should stand down after the 3-0 defeat.
You can see what the former Soccer Saturday pundit tweeted in full below.
In our view, we’re not too sure what Le Tissier is upset about.
There were only two major decisions in the game which became talking points, and it must be said that Marriner got them both correct.
It was Nathan Tella who stuck his leg out in order to make it look as if Diego Llorente had upended him.

Marriner was initially fooled by Tella’s antics and gave a penalty, but thankfully, VAR helped him see sense.
Then, James Ward-Prowse played an early freekick which set Che Adams in on goal, and he finished confidently beyond Illan Meslier.

However, Marriner could be seen gesturing that he hadn’t blown his whistle yet, and was not ready for the set-piece to be taken – you can’t argue with that.
Let’s see what the Leeds fans on Twitter have been saying in response to Le Tissier’s tweet about the officiating…
