Leeds fans have taken to Twitter to react after the club announced the signing of Jack Harrison on a permanent deal from Manchester City.
What’s the story?
Well, this one feels a bit weird!
Harrison is technically a new signing, albeit one who has racked up 128 appearances for Leeds while on loan from Pep Guardiola’s side.
The 24-year-old’s time at Elland Road is surely among the longest loan spells in football history – he has been in Yorkshire since 2018.
Now, it’s great for Leeds to be able to call Harrison one of their own.
Put aside his association with Leeds for a moment, and the fact he cost just £11 million is sensational business.
For a 24-year-old with eight goals and eight assists in the Premier League last season, you’d potentially be looking at a fee north of £30 million.
Fantastic use of the loan system

Loan moves don’t always work out – cough, cough, Jean-Kevin Augustin – but Marcelo Bielsa and Victor Orta have done superbly here.
They have landed an in-form winger from the Premier League champions for the same price Fulham paid for Ross McCormack in 2014 – £11 million.
It’s an outstanding piece of business, and hopefully, it will have a positive impact on Harrison.

From a mental aspect, it’s definitely possible that Harrison’s displays could improve, now his long-term future has been settled.
He has signed a three-year deal at Elland Road, which sees Leeds tie him down for his prime years as a forward.
Let’s see how the Leeds fans on Twitter reacted to the club’s announcement…
