‘Ridiculous’: Frank Leboeuf slams brother of Tottenham player for ‘rookie mistake’

Frank Leboeuf has told ESPN that the brother of Tottenham striker Harry Kane has made a ‘rookie mistake’.

Charlie Kane is the agent of the wantaway Tottenham player, who is wanted by Pep Guardiola at Manchester City, as he told Sky Sports.

Kane signed a money-rewarding bumper six-year contract with Spurs in 2018, without a release clause, unlike the £100 million Jack Grealish.

Former France World Cup winner, Leboeuf, thinks the Kane situation is getting ‘ridiculous’ and it won’t look good on the England captain if he stays put in North London this summer.

“I blame both (Tottenham and Kane),” said Leboeuf. “If you think having a brother as an agent is a good thing, but his brother made a rookie mistake.

“You don’t sign for six years and you are Harry Kane and you have hopes of getting some cups in your résumé.

“If it was the case that just shaking the hand was a contract then it’s not anymore like that. I don’t know who lies or who says the truth. But they really have to meet. They have to sit down around the table and discuss the future of Harry Kane.

“It’s becoming ridiculous now and it can put Kane in a very bad situation. If he stays then he will look stupid.”

It’s going to be interesting to see what Nuno Espirito Santo makes of all of this because he has seemingly walked into a civil war that has been brewing in North London long before he arrived.

Given that the oil-rich Man City have spent nearly £1bn under Guardiola’s stewardship, it would be a shock if they didn’t, during these final few weeks of the season, try to lure Kane towards their direction again.

But it’s Daniel Levy who stands in their way and given that he has Kane wrapped up behind a lengthy contract then his stubbornness will be hitting the roof.

It’s difficult getting Levy to the negotiating table on a good day, so in this current situation, it wouldn’t be a surprise if the English businessman doesn’t even listen, regardless of how Kane feels or how much money Man City throw at them.
