Celtic fans have taken to Twitter to react after Chris Sutton said he thinks it will take £60 million for the Hoops to wrestle the title back from Rangers.
Speaking to The Daily Record, the 48-year-old said: “It isn’t going to be a click of the fingers.
“That would be absolute miracle stuff unless Dermot Desmond turns around and says, ‘Well I’m backing the manager to a tune of £50 or £60 million to allow signings to come in to really push Rangers’, because that is the sort of money, maybe even more, that it will take to really go shoulder to shoulder with Rangers.”
After hearing what he said, a number of Celtic fans took to Twitter in disagreement.
One fan said that a decent coaching team and a squad of committed players will win the title back ‘no problem’ – bold words indeed.
Two others described Sutton’s comments as ‘ridiculous’ as another said the ex-Celtic striker was producing ‘crazy talk’ after Rangers won the title.

From where we stand, we agree with the supporters.
Yes, there’s no denying that work needs to be done at Celtic Park.
However, we’re not sure that it’s a job that necessarily needs £60 million pumped into it.
Let’s not forget that the Bhoys had just won nine Scottish Premiership titles in a row, so there must’ve been something the club was doing correctly.

In our view, Celtic need a determined manager who’s keen to go toe-to-toe with Steven Gerrard, as well as a handful of new recruits.
They don’t have to be big-money deals like Sutton seemingly wants. The most important thing is getting people through the door who are passionate about playing for Celtic.
Let’s see what the Celtic fans on Twitter have been saying about Sutton’s comments…
