Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to react after a ‘bonkers’ statistic regarding Naby Keita emerged following the 1-1 draw to West Brom.
Richard Buxton – a journalist covering Liverpool – revealed that the Guinea international will have missed 35 games for the Reds through injury if he’s unavailable for the Newcastle clash on Wednesday.
Having only arrived at Anfield in July 2018, following a club-record £48 million agreement in August 2017, Keita has seriously struggled.
The 25-year-old has rarely enjoyed an extended run in Jurgen Klopp’s starting XI, either through injury, or due to the competition for places.
In total, Keita has managed to make 71 appearances for the Premier League champions, scoring seven goals while assisting four more.

He has been largely underwhelming, having arrived to such fanfare as a result of his brilliance for RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga.
The Conakry-born maestro netted 17 goals and assisted 15 more for the German outfit, in the exact same amount of games he’s played for Liverpool.

His injury problems are no secret to the Anfield faithful, but seeing the amount of games he’s missed tweeted crystal clear in black and white seems to have alarmed some Liverpool fans.
Let’s see what they’ve been saying about the statistic on Twitter…
