Hull City winger Jadon Philogene has opened up about where his next move lies as he prepares for his departure from the EFL Championship.

Jaden Philogene has been heavily linked with a move to Barcelona this summer with HITC reporting that the Spanish giants have watched the English winger in action for the Tigers.

Liverpool are also understood to be admirers of the English winger, and he wouldn’t be the first transfer from Hull to Anfield with Andrew Robertson being another example.

There has also been reported interest from Everton and West Ham United but it had appeared that a move to the Catalan giants was becoming a very real possibility.

Philogene comments on Barcelona move

Hull City chairman, Acun Ilicali, when interviewed by talkSPORT, spoke of not wanting to keep players against their will and seemed to be referring to Philogene.

“Everything is true,” Ilicali said. “Of course, if you ask me, I told my fans that I would sell nobody. My idea in football is not to make money. My idea is to make a strong and bigger club.

“But to make a bigger club, sometimes if a player says I want to go, that’s a different case. For me, if one player changes, it’s not the end of the road.”

Philogene has been quoted by Fabrizio Romano on X about his future, and appears to confirm that a move to Barcelona will not be happening, in a surprise twist.

“I chose the Premier League because it is the clearest offer I have, but my dream is still La Liga,” Philogene said. “Barça is my dream, I hope I can sign for them one day. My idols are Ronaldinho and Neymar.”

Philogene admission comes as a big boost for Crystal Palace

Philogene’s admission that a move to the Premier League is in the offing is a major boost for the teams from England that are understood to be interested.

The winger ended the Championship with 12 goals, including an outrageous rabona goal which was described as ‘ridiculous‘ by former manager Liam Rosenior, and six assists for Hull.

A replacement for Michael Olise is needed for Palace and sources have told HITC that the Eagles are one of the sides keen on the former Aston Villa winger.
