Man City right-back Rico Lewis has posted a 1-word comment on Sonny Perkins’ latest Instagram post, complimenting the youngster after his first goal in a Leeds United shirt against Cardiff City in the FA Cup.
While Leeds were held to a disappointing 2-2 draw against Cardiff, Perkins emerged as a rare positive headline for Jesse Marsch and Co.
As the Whites were losing 2-1 in the FA Cup, the 18-year-old emerged as his side’s hero, scoring a close-range strike which showcased his predatory instincts.
Much like any and everyone watching, Rico Lewis too was impressed, as he expressed his appreciation via Instagram.
With Wilfried Gnonto fizzing in a low cross, Junior Firpo’s deft flick was met by Sonny Perkins, who toe-poked the ball into the back of the Cardiff City net.
Impressively, Perkins made history as well, becoming the youngest-ever Leeds player to score in the FA Cup, at 18 years, 10 months and 29 days.
Considering Jesse Marsch has been speculated with an exit, the ex-West Ham United starlet may well have played a role in saving his manager’s job.
And now the Man City wonderkid has complimented Perkins after his landmark.
