Celtic have monitored prolific Red Star Belgrade striker Richmond Boakye – but he also has admirers from the Premier League.

Chelsea will be taking a vested interest in Arsenal’s Europa League clash with Red Star Belgrade on Thursday evening.
The Standard claims that the Premier League champions will once again send scouts to watch Ghanaian forward Richmond Boakye in action for the Serbian giants at The Emirates, having monitored him during Arsenal’s trip to Belgrade a fortnight ago.
Chelsea are understood to be interested in enhancing their attacking options and Boakye, who was in Juventus’ youth system during Antonio Conte’s spell in charge of the Turin giants, has emerged as a genuine target.

And Boakye admits that he will listen to any offer that comes his way in the New Year.
“I am playing well, so we’ll see who will contact me. If I’m going to play for Chelsea, then I’ll go. I’m having fun and I’m playing at my best,” the 24-year-old said in quotes reported by The Standard.
This should give Celtic hope that Boakye could be on his way to British shores in January. The Mail claimed last month that the Scottish champions are one of a number of clubs watching the prolific centre-forward, who has 33 goals for club and country in 2017 alone.

Boakye is understood to be valued at around £10 million, £4 million more than Celtic have ever spent on a player. Manager Brendan Rodgers has insisted that he would be willing to shatter The Hoops’ transfer record (Daily Record) and those claims could be put to the test in January.
Boakye has scored 31 goals in just 42 appearances since moving to Red Star from Italian lower league outfit Latina at the start of the year.
