Everton star Richarlison has sung the praises of new teammate James Rodriguez to FIFA.

The Colombian was Everton’s marquee signing in the summer transfer window and has started the season in fantastic style. Rodriguez has three goals and three assists to his name in five games.

That’s a fantastic return for someone playing in the Premier League for the first time in his career. The former Real Madrid man’s form has helped Everton to the top of the table, and Richarlison admits he always dreamed of playing alongside him.

Richarlison: James would walk into any PL team

He said: “I’ve fulfilled so many dreams already I’m so grateful for. Playing alongside James Rodriguez is another one. He’s a very special talent. He’s the number 10 for his national team, he’s got an outstanding pedigree – Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Porto.

“He’d walk into any team in the Premier League. I watch a lot of Premier League games – what team wouldn’t want James Rodriguez?

“He’s made a brilliant start at Everton, and I really hope it continues so we can achieve our targets this season.”

Everton look incredibly strong at the moment. Rodriguez’s arrival has raised the spirits in the squad, while the additions of Allan and Abdoulaye Doucoure has increased the quality of the team massively.

Everton have won each of the six games they have played in all competitions this season. The Toffees are on top of the Premier League table, and Rodriguez’s performances have played a big part in that.

It will be difficult for the former Porto man to continue the same form throughout the season. The gap between games will reduce in the coming months and Ancelotti will have to manage his star player wisely to avoid injuries.

If Rodriguez, Richarlison and others manage to stay fit throughout the season, Everton will be confident of securing a place in one of the European spots.

The Merseyside derby after the international break will tell a lot about this Toffees side. If they can beat Liverpool, the traditional top six will have to start taking them seriously.
