Richard Keys urged Andy Gray to re-think his comments about Tottenham duo Heung-Min Son and Harry Kane after he answered without hesitation that he would let go of the former if he had a choice.
The former Scotland striker was asked on beIN SPORTS, out of Tottenham thriving duo who he would prefer to lose, and he made it clear that he’d keep Kane because of his leadership qualities.
On who he would let go: “Son,” Gray answered in an instance.
Keys responded by saying: “That was too quick for me. I want you to think about that.”
Gray then stated: “No, I don’t need to. I don’t need to. Son is a brilliant player. Sensational. [But] Kane’s a leader. Talisman. Everything he does is quality. For me, a lot of people might argue if I have to lose one then I keep Kane and I lose Son.”
Tottenham’s deadly duo were at it again on Monday when they combined to seal all three points against Burnley at Turf Moor.
The unselfish nature of the two is a big part behind their success as a duo, as well as their pure understanding of each other’s game.
Kane has been the provider on most occasions and it has resulted in the Englishmen topping the assists charts after six games.
Jose Mourinho will be hoping it’s a combination that can lead to a trophy at Spurs because, after all, he has lifted silverware everywhere he has gone.
But winning a domestic, or dare it be said a European trophy or league title, at Spurs would perhaps turn out to be his biggest success.
