West Ham United have recently appointed David Moyes, but the London side’s supporters are not happy.
Moyes has come in at the London Stadium to replace Slaven Bilic, but his appointment has not been welcomed.
West Ham fans are up in arms that Moyes has been placed in charge, following the failure in his last three jobs.
Moyes has been unsuccessful at Manchester United, Real Sociedad and Sunderland since leaving Everton.
And West Ham fans are concerned that if he fails again, then the consequences could be disastrous.
However, Keys insists that West Ham fans should be backing rather than criticising Moyes, before he has even started.
“If the faithful at West Ham don’t get behind David Moyes their team is sunk,” Keys said.
“Why is Moyes getting hammered in the manner that he is?
“He’s a good man. He’s an honest man, so that makes him something of a rarity in football, and he’s a smart man. He’s also a man that’s been badly abused and more than a little bit used since leaving Everton, where he’d done an outstanding job on buttons.”
Moyes has just under two weeks to work with West Ham’s players on the training ground, before the London side are next in competitive action.
The Hammers are set to take on Watford at Vicarage Road in two weekends’ time, in what will be Moyes’ first match in charge.
