Richard Keys has told BeIN Sports that he is ‘upset’ with Mikel Arteta’s decision to drop Mesut Ozil from Arsenal’s squad completely.
Ozil will not feature for Arsenal until January at the very earliest, with the German’s time at the club surely coming to an end now.
Ozil seemingly has absolutely no future at the Emirates Stadium while Arteta is in charge.
But Keys has not been impressed by how the Arsenal boss has handled the situation.
“I don’t think you need to get to this stage,” he said. “The thing that upsets me is that Arteta, particularly, there is better ways to deal with it than that.”
Andy Gray backed up his fellow pundit’s point, as he feels that Arteta never really fancied giving Ozil a chance from the moment he walked in.
“I get the feeling that the bridges are burnt between Arteta and Ozil, and they were burnt a long time ago – as soon as he got there,” Gray added.

Ozil has seemingly responded to the latest set-back by showing his support by the side on social media.
Ozil has regularly live-tweeted during Arsenal’s latest games, but they arguably missed him on the field yesterday.
The Gunners could not break down a stubborn Leicester defence, as they fell to a 1-0 defeat, and there is an argument to suggest that having a player with Ozil’s creative talents available would have been useful last night.
