England reportedly are looking to appoint Sunderland boss Sam Allardyce as their new manager.
Richard Keys has tweeted in defence of Sunderland, as the FA continue to chase Sam Allardyce.
England want Allardyce to be their next manager, and he has been interviewed for the job in recent weeks.
The uncertainty over Allardyce’s future is harming Sunderland’s preparations for the new campaign, though, and Keys has urged the FA to hurry up and complete a deal if they do want to appoint the 61-year-old boss.
Sunderland have also released a statement, suggesting that they would like a swift resolution.
If Allardyce does leave Sunderland it would be a major blow for the Wearsiders, as they aim to build on last season.
Sunderland have expressed a desire to start moving away from the relegation zone, after narrowly avoiding the drop last term.
If Allardyce does leave, David Moyes is currently the favourite to take over at the Stadium of Light.
Moyes has been out of work since leaving Real Sociedad, and it is believed that the Black Cats’ board feel he could do an excellent job if he does take charge.
