Richard Keys urges Harry Kane to play the role of a striker for Tottenham Hotspur.
Well-known sports presenter Richard Keys has suggested on his website that Tottenham Hotspur duo Harry Kane and Christian Eriksen need to step up their game after the international break.
Neither striker Kane nor attacking midfielder Eriksen has been in good form for Tottenham so far this season.
Former Sky Sports presenter Keys has claimed that the duo have been way off so far this season.
The Englishman has also urged England international Kane to play like a striker rather than like a number 10.
“Spurs are stuttering,” Keys wrote on his website. “They’re nowhere near the side that started last season. Kane and Eriksson are way off.
“Funny – I was interested to read Tony Cascarini telling Kane in his Times column today that he’s not a No.10. I think I mentioned that a year ago!
“If he doesn’t get himself up top and start being in the right places to score goals again he’s going to struggle all season long. You’re a centre forward Harry. Play like one.”
Kane is one of the best strikers in the Premier League, but the 23-year-old has yet to score in the league this season.
The England international striker has created three chances in three league matches for Spurs.
Eriksen has created five chances in three Premier League appearances for the North London outfit so far this campaign.
Tottenham, who will feature in the Champions League this season, have made a slow start to the 2016-17 Premier League campaign.
The North London outfit played out a 1-1 draw with Everton at Goodison Park on the opening weekend of the season., before winning 1-0 against Crystal Palace and drawing 1-1 with Liverpool at White Hart Lane.
